Denise Van Nostran, LMT, NCTMB, is committed to providing the finest therapeutic bodywork in the Lowcountry.  In practice since 2001, Denise received her massage education at Indiana University in Indianapolis, and established a full-time practice specializing in massage for performing artists and other athletes.  She provided massage therapy for the artists of Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre in Indianapolis, as well as piano and violin faculty of Butler University.  She was a member of the massage therapy team for the FINA International Swim Championships in Indianapolis in 2004.

Denise is Program Director and Instructor for Massage Therapy at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.  She has studied with some of the leading practitioners in the field of massage therapy and bodywork, including sports massage training with Benny Vaughn,  Myofascial Certification (Levels I & II) with CORE Institute founder George Kousaleos, plus specialized training with Tom Myers,  Body Therapy Institute co-directors Rick Rosen and Carey Smith, and others.   Since moving to South Carolina in 2005, Denise received additional training in Pre- and Post-Natal Massage and Infant Massage, and joined the practice at the Island Women’s Center on Hilton Head Island.

Prior to her work in massage therapy, Denise received Bachelors and Masters degrees in music, performed professionally in opera and concert, and taught voice at the college level.  Her interest in massage and bodywork grew out of years of experience with Alexander Technique, Reiki and other forms of energy work, and her own desire to move from a performing career to a field in which she could be of service.  The threads of all of these previous experiences have come together in her teaching and continuing bodywork practice.
