Dynamic Bodywork Methods

Dynamic Bodywork supports change in a positive direction for body, mind and spirit. Techniques work in an effective range of depth, and honor the pace that your body allows for movement into the tissues. Therapeutic goals are ultimately acheived in less time, with less discomfort.
Sessions vary in the combination of methods at each stage of the work, designed to grow and change with the needs of the client on that specific day. Your 60- or 90-minute session will include elements of the following methods:
Myofascial Therapy
The fascia (connective tissues) of our bodies work as a sensory network as well as the fabric that shapes our form. Fascia will change in response to use, and Myofascial Therapy warms and releases the tissues from limited movement so the body can acheive a more balanced, flexible state.
Orthopedic Massage
Postural and functional assessment is the basis for muscle-specific bodywork to address restrictions, decrease pain, and increase ease of movement.
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF Stretching)
Therapist and client work together with active, passive and resisted stretches to increase flexibility and range of motion.
On-site Pre- and Post-Event Sports Massage
Service is available to individuals or groups for on-site athletic events to enhance performance and recovery and prevent injury. Correctly applied sports massage is beneficial at every stage of the training and competition process.
Pre- and Post-Natal Massage
Following the first trimester, massage supports the health of the mother and development of the child, particularly addressing postural stress, and providing comfort and relaxation.
Gentle Depth Relaxation Massage
Each person has his or her own optimal depth of bodywork for relaxation. Therapeutic needs are addressed with continuity, calming flow, and thoughtful movement into the tissues. This is ideal for stress relief, and particularly useful for those with Fibromyalgia, Arthritis or other types of chronic pain.
